Google Has Removed 2.51 Billion Links For Piracy

The latest Transparency Report from Google showed that the company is sparing no efforts to resolve cases of online piracy.

The company revealed that it has already removed a colossal number of URLs from the internet because of infringements of intellectual monopoly laws: no less than 2.51 billion – and counting.

According to the data, it is also possible to see that much of these numbers come from recent times. In just one year, Google had removed more than 931 million links (almost 40% of the total), with 90 million of them removed in the last month alone.

This growth in the number of removals is even more impressive when we consider a number of removal requests per day that are processed. As you can see in the chart above, daily orders were a few thousand, as early as January 2013, for absurd peaks of 25 million at the beginning of 2017.
